If you love the world, you will conform
You will surely love the societal norm
If you are of the world, the world will love its own
In such a case, non-conformity is unknown

Do not conform to this world of lies
If you conform, it's truth you despise
If you love the truth, it will set you free
It comes from Christ, not you or me!

You say, "you have your truth, I have mine"
What about God's truth? Is that question out of line?
If it seems out of line, it's because you conform
Let regeneration become your new norm

This poem is titled "To The Actual Conformists" because it is directed towards those who conform under the guise of non-conformity. Here are some Bible verses that helped inspire this poem...

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God" (Romans 12:2)

"Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him" (1 John 2:15)

"If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you" (John 15:19).

"If you abide in My word, you are my disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (John 8:31-32)
