In John 14:6 Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me”.
Although many Christians have that knowledge, many of us still don’t know exactly who Jesus is. If we intend to follow Jesus, it is important that we understand exactly who He is in order to grow spiritually. In Revelation 22:13 Jesus said “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last”. To understand exactly what Jesus meant by that, and to understand exactly who Jesus is, I invite you to study the following Scriptures to find the answer: John 1:1-18, 1 John 5:7, Colossians 1:15-19, Isaiah 9:6, John 14:7-10, 1 Timothy 2:5.
Now pay close attention to what Jesus said to the Jews in John 8:57-58. We can only conclude that Jesus is the same “I AM” who spoke to Moses in Exodus 3:14-15. Through these Scriptures we find that Jesus Himself is God, and He is eternal, but it was not until His birth that He “became flesh” (John 1:14). To find out more about Jesus’ deity and exactly why He came, I recommend the Gospel of John as the best starting place in the Bible.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines…” - Hebrews 13:8-9.
